Delhi to Dharamshala

Dharamshala is situated in the foothills of the Dhauladhar mountain range in the Himalayas and is known for its picturesque landscapes, serene atmosphere, and as the residence of the 14th Dalai Lama. The town offers a mix of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and a peaceful ambiance. The distance between Delhi to Dharamshala is about 500 kms.

Day 1: Delhi to Dharamshala

You will leave for a trip to Dharamshala from Delhi in the evening by boarding onto Volvo Bus at a predetermined location in Delhi for an overnight journey.

Day 2: Arrival in Dharamshala and nearby attractions

Morning arrive at Dharamshala, on arrival check in to hotel. After breakfast and some rest proceed for local sightseeing tour of Dharamshala town. t is located at Dhauladhar Mountain Range in the foothills of the Himalayas. The town is divided into two main parts – Lower Dharamshala and Upper Dharamshala (McLeod Ganj).
Visit to McLeod Ganj, often referred as “Little Lhasa,” known for its Tibetan culture, monasteries, and vibrant marketplaces. You will be visiting Naddi Village, Dal Lake, St. John Church, Bhagsu Nag Temple, Bhagsu Waterfall, Tibetan Monastery, and “His Holiness The Dalai Lama Temple”.
In the evening you are free to stroll markets in Dharamshala bustling with Tibetan goods, clothing, handicrafts, and delicious food. Overnight stay at Dharamshala hotel.

Day 3: Dharamshala-Palampur-Dharamshala

After a delectable breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing of Palampur. You will be driven to Palampur which is approximately a one-hour drive away. Visit the Palampur Tea Gardens learn about tea production.
Visit to Norbulingka Institute- dedicated to the preservation of Tibetan art, culture, and heritage.
Our next visit will be to Chinmaya Tapovan Ashram- a renowned spiritual and meditation center dedicated to the study and dissemination of Vedanta, an ancient Indian philosophy.
Visit to Chamunda Mata Temple dedicated to Goddess Chamunda located on the banks of the Ban Ganga River and offers breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar Range. The temple has distinctive Himachali architecture with intricate carvings and a pyramidal-style roof.
Our next stop will be at Dhauladhar Nature Park (Zoo), Gopalpur. The park is dedicated to the conservation and protection of the local flora and fauna of the Dhauladhar region and provides a habitat to various species of plants, trees, and animals indigenous to the area. Visitors to the Dhauladhar Nature Park may encounter a variety of native species, including pheasants, leopards, barking deer and black bears.
The Park promotes eco-tourism and offers a nature-friendly experience for visitors. Later explore local market of Palampur for traditional Himachali handicrafts, shawls, handmade goods and souvenirs. Evening come back to Dharamshala for an overnight stay at the hotel. 

Day 4: Dharamshala to Delhi

Morning check out from Dharamshala hotel and you are now free to do your own exploration. Board on evening Volvo bus for an overnight journey to Delhi.

Day 5: Arrival at Delhi

You will reach Delhi in the morning. Proceed for your onward journey.
