Gaumukh Trek – Day-Wise Itinerary Ex Haridwar (06N/07D)

Day 1: Haridwar → Uttarkashi (8–9 hours)
Start from Haridwar and follow the Bhagirathi River upstream.
Reach Uttarkashi, the gateway to Gangotri National Park.
Complete necessary permits at the Forest Department Office.
Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.

Day 02: Uttarkashi → Gangotri (3,100 m)
Scenic drive through Harsil valley and dense deodar forests.
Arrive in the holy town of Gangotri, the trek starting point.
Evening visit to Gangotri Temple and acclimatization walk.
Overnight stay in Gangotri.

Day 03: Gangotri → Bhojbasa (3,800 m)
Trek: 5 km | 3–4 hours
An easy day with a gentle trail.
Landscapes become wider with dramatic glacier views.
Reach Bhojbasa, the last campsite before Gaumukh, named after the Bhoj tree.
Sunset views of Bhagirathi peaks are a highlight.
Overnight stay in tents.

Day 05: Bhojbasa → Gaumukh (4,023 m) → Bhojbasa (Return)
Trek: 10 km round trip | 6–7 hours
Walk towards Gaumukh, the legendary snout of the Gangotri Glacier.
Witness the exact point where the Bhagirathi River emerges from a wall of ice.
Spend time exploring the glacier front and taking photographs.
Return to Bhojbasa for the night.

Day 06: Bhojbasa → Gangotri | Drive to Uttarkashi
Trek: 14 km | 6–7 hours
Retrace your route down to Chirbasa and then Gangotri.
Drive back to Uttarkashi for a comfortable night stay.
Overnight in hotel/guesthouse.

Day 07: Uttarkashi → Haridwar
Return journey to Haridwar, marking the end of the trek.
Evening drop at your preferred point.
